Gold Line Blackheaded Python
This lack of melanin trait has proven to be genetically inheritable with generations of selectively bred Gold offspring showing enhanced rich Gold and red patches over the head, neck and under chin. We’ve been working with these animals since 2004, each generation are proving to show stronger and richer colours. This Gold line of BHP's is one of the corner stones in our future designer BHP projects. At first a full Gold headed Blackheaded python was thought to be the final goal to reach but a few of 2009’s Gold offspring from our White girl and Golden girl have shown more can be achieved. Two in particular have shown that this trait is not only replacing the head ‘colour’, it is also flowing into the banding and body pattern. Through thought out pairings and a few generations I’m confident that the entire head and body pattern will eventually be bred to Gold.
